What does the new Social Media Algorithms mean for your brand?

Social Media managers and brands have been in ‘n confused whirlwind these past few weeks with the announcement of the new algorithms that will be taking place on one of the biggest social media platforms, Facebook.
Algorithms, also known as a set of rules or procedures, will be making marketing your brand on Facebook a bit harder, or as I like to think of it; challenge a brand to give content that is actual newsworthy and striking. So, if you are a brand that only has Facebook because someone said it is the new way to go then you will be losing this battle.
In short, Facebook has decided that a person’s news feed will not be cluttered with marketing and advertising anymore, but rather the stories of your Facebook friends. What does this mean for brands and businesses using this platform exclusively for promoting their services? Do they need to pay for every post now (boost) so that their followers (likes) can see the posts? Well, not necessarily. Here are a few tips to adapt to “the new set of rules”:
Give your followers newsworthy content, things they will be interested in hearing, and something they will want to SHARE with others.
Do your research and lend some personal touch to your brand, something your page fans will resonate to and something they will give their thumbs up to. Give them content they will LIKE.
Don’t be that brand that spam. “Share this post and tag three friends and you will stand a chance to win a box of beer”. Give them content that they will want to COMMENT on and give their opinion, make it emotional and personal to them.
To conclude, you as a brand needs to get your followers to be more actively engage with your brand and page to reach them on their personal Facebook news feed. Be that brand that land on their news feed.
Hope you will all have a great week!
Burble-greetings!
